We emphasize companies that can
become and remain the leader in a large ($1 billion+),
high growth market. We recognize that competitive
advantage on the Internet today often has more to do with
the speed and quality of execution than proprietary
technologies or other entry barriers. Consequently we are
most interested in backing strong management teams whose
members have demonstrated a track record of success in
previous entrepreneurial endeavors.
We are able to leverage business
relationships with participating companies and other
connections within the dot com industry. In many cases,
we bring industry-specific knowledge across various
sectors of the relavant industry to bear in our targeted
investment areas.
We also facilitate collaboration
across our portfolio companies to help in business
development, recruiting and other matters.
In an initial investment, participating capital partners typically look to invest $1-3 million, although in certain circumstances they will consider smaller or larger amounts. In addition, participating members reserve capital for follow-on investments in portfolio companies.
